Brooks Patterson Endorses Bob Gatt

County Executive Calls Gatt “The Experienced Leader Novi Needs”

PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson today endorsed Novi Mayor Pro Tem Bob Gatt to succeed Novi Mayor David Landry who will not seek re-election in November.  Mayor Landry and two other past Novi mayors, as well as one former Novi Mayor ProTem, also have endorsed Gatt.

“Bob Gatt has served Novi with distinction for almost 40 years, most recently as a councilman and Mayor ProTem,” Patterson said. “He’s the experienced leader Novi needs to ensure that it remains one of Michigan’s premiere communities to work, to raise a family and to retire,” Patterson said.

“I’m proud to endorse Bob Gatt for Mayor,” Patterson said.

Patterson is the chief elected official of one of America’s most economically dynamic counties. Under his leadership, Oakland County’s government has earned respect from Wall Street for its sound financial policies by attaining and maintaining a coveted AAA bond rating, which only 34 of the nation’s 3,200 counties have received.

“I’m honored to have Executive Patterson’s endorsement and his vote of confidence in my experience. I look forward to working with him to maintain Novi’s tradition of an efficient and well-run government,” Gatt said.

The Gatt for Mayor campaign has announced a flurry of endorsements in recent weeks, including: Senator Mike Kowall, County Clerk/Register of Deeds Bill Bullard Jr., Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, Mayor David Landry, former Mayor Matt Quinn, former Mayor Patricia Karevich, former Mayor Pro Tem Ed Leininger, Councilman David Staudt, Councilman Wayne Wrobel and former Councilman Brian Burke.  Current Novi Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) member Dr. Mav Sanghvi and former ZBA member Brent Canup also support Gatt for Mayor.

Gatt also has been endorsed by Novi job creators and community leaders Blair Bowman, Moe Leon, Tim Herrington, Bill Bowman Sr., Bob Churella, Mike Stanford and Liz Stanford.   Additional major endorsements will be announced in the near future.
